Attorney Victoria Bowling
Victoria is a Tidewater native, living in Virginia Beach since she was 5 years old. She left Virginia Beach for college, graduating Magna cum laude from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor’s in English. While at Virginia Tech, Victoria was active in the service organization Alpha Phi Omega, volunteering with the Special Olympics, Adopt-a-Highway, Pulaski County Humane Society, and many other service projects. Victoria is a Hokie football and basketball fanatic and never misses gameday.
After college, having always had an interest in the law, Victoria worked as a Front Desk Deputy Clerk for the Virginia Beach Circuit Court Clerk’s Office. There she gained invaluable experience in the legal field for two years. At the front counter, Victoria met a family law attorney who would eventually hire her, and she began working as a legal assistant.
While working as a legal assistant, Victoria attended court one day with the attorney and absolutely loved it. The next day, Victoria signed up for the LSAT. Victoria had several friends that lived in Chicago and decided to move to Chicago for law school so she could experience “big city life.” Victoria enrolled at DePaul University School of Law with the intent to practice family law. She was awarded the Schiller DuCanto & Fleck Family Law Center Fellowship. In her first year of law school, she received the CALI Award for Legal Analysis Research & Communication. In the summer after her first year of law school, she interned at Samaritan House, a domestic violence shelter in Virginia Beach, as a Victim Advocate Legal Intern. While already a sports nut, during her time in Chicago she became a fan of the Chicago Cubs, Bears, and Blackhawks, and has attended several games.
Victoria was on a path to become a family law attorney until her uncle suffered from a massive stroke. She saw her father, who was appointed as guardian and conservator, struggle with her uncle’s incapacity. Her uncle had never done any prior incapacity planning, and it took a toll on everyone in the family. This sparked her interest in in estate planning. After her first year at DePaul, she transferred to University of Richmond to be closer to her family. While attending University of Richmond, she took a trust and estate drafting course and interned with Carrell Blanton Ferris & Associates during the summer between her second and third year of law school.
Victoria enjoys guiding clients through the estate planning and administration process. She loves the personal connections she makes with clients and helping them craft a plan that not only meets their financial goals, but leaves a legacy for their families.
When not at work, you can usually find Victoria outdoors camping, kayaking, and hiking all over Virginia with her partner and their goldendoodle, Rudee, or exploring a new restaurant or brewery near their home in Virginia Beach.
