Attorney Lisa A. Allen
Attorney
Lisa Allen focuses her practice on estate planning and special needs planning. She came to Carrell Blanton Ferris from her previous position as Client Services Attorney at CancerLINC, a Richmond non-profit organization that assists cancer patients and their families. While there, Lisa helped many families with estate planning and administration, and in navigating public and private benefits. Lisa currently serves on the board of directors for the Circle Center, a non-profit adult day services center that provides programming to meet the needs of adults with declining cognitive ability, and respite for their caregivers.
Her experiences as a caregiver to family members makes her particularly sensitive to the needs of families facing difficult diagnoses.
Lisa had a successful career as a chemistry teacher before attending law school. She is a former Teacher of the Year for Stonington, Connecticut.
Lisa is an engaging speaker and in addition to our public education seminars, presents for private groups on a variety of estate planning topics, including incapacity, special needs planning, and end of life legal issues.
In her free time, Lisa is an active member of Midlothian Friends Meeting, and she is an experienced potter and knitter. She lives in Richmond with a very opinionated Welsh terrier named Tina.
