Amy E. McCullough has practiced law in Virginia since 2001, and has handled a wide variety of elder law and trust and estate-related matters, from planning and administration to litigation. In court, she has litigated issues related to wills, trusts and guardianships in the Circuit Courts of the City of Fredericksburg and the Counties of Stafford, Spotsylvania, King George, Caroline, and Prince William, as well as in the Supreme Court of Virginia. Outside of the litigation process, she enjoys helping individuals and families find the right estate planning solutions so that they can meet their own personal goals as well as provide for family members and others important to them. Amy assists clients of all ages with wills, powers of attorney and advance medical directives, and drafting of various types of trusts.
Having served as a guardian ad litem for incapacitated adults since 2003, Amy is aware of the many situations that can arise with regard to persons who are not in a position to craft their own estate plans. She is experienced in drafting special needs trusts and in representing families in adult guardianship and conservatorship proceedings. She has served as a guardian and conservator herself, and regularly advises guardians and conservators on estate administration and benefits planning issues. Amy also believes very strongly in educating her clients about how to best protect their interests and those of their loved ones, and regularly speaks to professional and civic groups on estate planning, elder law, and guardianship issues.
